Notice of Termination of Korea-U.S. Automated Immigration Service
Summary
The Korea-U.S. Automated Immigration Service is undergoing system improvements, leading to a temporary suspension of mutual information transmission. Existing applicants, both Korean and American, may need to reapply or experience delays in their application process depending on their current status. Further announcements will be made once the system is updated.
Overview
Due to system improvement work on the Korea-U.S. Automated Immigration Service, the information transmission method is being transitioned. During this process, the operation of the existing system will be terminated due to the suspension of mutual information transmission for applicants of the automated immigration service between Korea and the United States until the new system is launched. The following is guidance for applicants who have applied for the service but have not yet received approval.
Guidance for Korean Applicants
Korean citizens should check their application status on the Hi Korea My Page - Automated Immigration Review Application Progress and refer to the guidance corresponding to their application stage.
-
TTP Conditionally approved prior to the system update [Applicable Application Stages: “Application”/“Conditionally Approved (=Submission of Criminal Record Certificate Stage)”/“PASS”/“NEW”]: You must reapply when the new system opens. We discussed remedies for existing applicants with the U.S. side, but received a response from the U.S. that transmission recovery and information transfer are impossible, and you must reapply when the new system opens. Even if you have already submitted a Criminal Record Certificate, you must resubmit it when reapplying after the new system opens (Certificate must be issued within 1 month of the submission date).
-
TTP Conditionally approved after the system update [Applicable Application Stage: TTP Conditionally approved]: Interviews with the U.S. are possible, but for inquiries regarding Global Entry interviews, including interview reservations, please contact TTP.
Guidance for American Applicants
-
U.S. citizens who submitted an application to TTP but did not pay the fee to Hi Korea: Since the current system operation has ended, application information has not been transmitted to Korea, so fee payment is also impossible.
-
U.S. citizens who submitted an application to TTP and successfully paid the fee to Hi Korea and are currently in the Conditionally approved stage: SES interviews and biometric information registration are possible, but system changes are necessary, and a schedule will be announced later. Please understand that interview registration is not possible until further notice.
Apology
We apologize for the significant inconvenience caused by the delay in the announcement and follow-up measures regarding the termination of the Korea-U.S. Automated Immigration System due to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Global Entry shutdown. We will provide a more stable service as soon as the system improvement is completed.
