Notice Regarding Relaxation of Korean Language Proficiency Requirements for Internship Activities in Research Fields for International Graduate Students (Master's/Doctoral) in Science and Engineering

This notice announces a relaxation of Korean language requirements (from Level 4 to Level 2) for international science and engineering graduate students interning at corporate research institutes during vacation. Eligible students must maintain a minimum GPA and receive approval from their university's international student office. The relaxed requirements apply only to R&D internships at recognized corporate research institutes during vacation periods, with no hourly restrictions for eligible students.
We would like to inform you that the Korean language proficiency standard will be relaxed from Level 4 to Level 2 for international graduate students (Master's/Doctoral) in science and engineering who work as interns in research fields at corporate research institutes during vacation periods.
(Eligibility)
- International graduate students (Master's/Doctoral) in science and engineering who:
- Have a GPA of C (2.0) or higher in the immediately preceding semester
- Have received confirmation of part-time employment from the university's international student affairs officer
(Activity Field) Internship activities in the research and development (R&D) field at corporate research institutes* with independent facilities
- Limited to cases where the institute is recognized as a corporate research institute in accordance with Article 3 of the Enforcement Regulations of the Act on the Promotion of Basic Research and Technology Development Support.
(Application Period and Permitted Hours) During vacation periods only, those who meet the requirements are permitted without time restrictions.
